Following the film premiere I was commissioned by The National Newspaper to write an article discussing my own history with skateboarding.

I discuss my own personal skateboard journey, how the documentary came about, the changes I’ve witnessed within the scene, and how Scotland is taking care of it’s talent in terms of the build environment and the organisations involved.

The article appeared in the Seven Days supplement of the Sunday National and was published on the 14th of April 2024.

Sarah Eve

I met Sarah whilst she was modelling for the Edinburgh based photographer Mairi Wilson.

We were creating a film to promote Mairi’s photography and as Sarah loved the results, we agreed to collaborate on a project to showcase her own modelling.

We ended up shooting on a gloomy summers day in and around Edinburgh which suited the aesthetic I had in mind quite well. We found ourselves hiding in alleys to avoid the drizzle in the morning, but as the day brightened up we ventured out to the Hermitage of Braid and then Portobello Beach to vary our scenes.

The original concept was high fashion which I combined with filtration and a Helios lens to create an ethereal dreamy look on the FX6.

The city where creatives flock seeking, inspiration, expression, entertainment, reflection, or to simply to be amongst like-minded souls.

Iconic in its appearance and timeless aesthetic, the ultimate bucket list location for photographers, filmmakers, designers, models, architects, foodies… I could go on. This would be my third visit to New York City but my first creative endeavour.

I approached Finnish singer-songwriter Iris Koko to collaborate on what I hoped would be mutually beneficial concept. To my delight I was met with great enthusiasm.

I first met Iris in 2012 when she was a student studying in Glasgow. Now based in NYC, she has fashioned a successful career through her music and art. To reconnect 10 years on, share our experiences, and produce a piece this work together was a rewarding experience for us both.

Mairi Wilson Photography

A collaboration with Scottish photographer Mairi Wilson at The Hermitage of Braid in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Upon discovering Mairi’s photography, I felt I could create a film to compliment her dream like aesthetic. I reached out and she was keen on the idea.

Mairi organised the shoot and I went along to film behind the scenes.

Hazel Watson Yoga

An insight into the work of Edinburgh based artist, designer & yoga instructor Hazel Watson.

Whether discussing art, yoga or her relationship with nature, Hazel exudes positive energy. This inspired me to produce a film sharing her creative talents and wisdom.

Shot at the Salisbury Centre in Edinburgh and Beescraig Country Park in West Lothian.

La Gelatessa

Chiara Pieraccini-Partington the owner of La Gelatessa in the Southside of Glasgow required some interior photos for a feature to run in Home & Interiors Scotland.

Although I don’t see myself as a professional photographer I gladly obliged, it has been inspirational to witness her business become a success in such a short space of time.
